邀请报告:Illuminating the Hidden Structure of Chromatin Condensate with cryo-ET

讲座摘要:
Every human cell faces an extraordinary challenge: fitting two meters of DNA into a nucleus only a few microns across. Understanding how this is accomplished is essential for deciphering gene regulation, DNA repair, and the origins of many diseases. Yet, the way linear genetic information folds into a functional three-dimensional structure remains one of biology’s central mysteries. In this talk, I will present our recent work uncovering chromatin architecture across scales, from individual nucleosomes to entire nuclear domains. Using cryo-electron tomography, we can now visualize chromatin organization with unprecedented detail, offering fresh insights into the molecular features that shape genome structure. Our findings begin to connect chromatin’s physical properties to its regulatory roles, revealing how structure and function intertwine within the nucleus.
