Biography

Dr. Xiang Zhou is currently a professor/principal investigator at Shanghai Cancer Center and Institutes of Biomedical Sciences of Fudan University. His research interests mainly focus on TP53 regulation of cancer metabolism and tumor microenvironment. He received the 2016 USCACA–AFCR scholar award and is funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has more than 50 publications in scientific journals, such as PNAS, Mol Cancer, Cancer Res, Mol Cell, Nat Commun, Elife, Cell Death Differ, Cell Death Dis, Clin Transl Med, Oncogene, JBC, etc.

Research Areas

  • To elucidate the roles of wild-type and mutant p53s in cancer;

  • To determine the roles of p53-associated noncoding RNAs in cancer;

  • To demonstrate mechanisms of nucleolar stress-induced tumor suppression;

  • To understand interactions between metabolism, inflammation, and regulated cell death.
