Biography

Prof. Huang obtained Ph.D. degree (2009) from Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine in China. After graduation, Dr. Huang worked in State-key Laboratory of Oncogenes and Related Genes, Shanghai Cancer Institute. From June, 2011 through July, 2013, Dr. Huang completed Postdoctoral training in Stanford University School of Medicine. In September, 2013, Dr. Huang was recruited to Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center and Institutes of Biomedical Sciences, and was appointed as Principal Investigator.

Research interest

The Huang lab focuses on the discovery and functional elucidation of new targets for cancer diagnosis and treatment. His lab was first discovered the presence and application of circular RNA in exosomes. They revealed the exosomal / EV long RNAs (exLRs) and its application in cancer diagnosis. They found the abundant tumor-specific transcripts (TSTs) in cancer. They also established the exLR-seq, ASJA & EV-origin bioinformatics tools and exoRBase & RJunBase databases. They are interested in the identification, functional characterization, and clinical application of TSTs and exLRs in cancer. They are also interested in developing approaches and databases in the fields (eg. high-through sequencing, bioinformatics, extracellular vesicles, cancer vaccine) for cancer research and clinical application.
