Research Areas

Research interest

We focus on the structure and function of pathogenic microbes (especially virus), using the advanced technique of cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM). Molecular structure of the viruses would provide fundamental understanding of the infection and transmission pathway. Furthermore, the complex structures of virus with antibody and virus with inhibitor would reveal the mechanisms of antibody neutralization and small molecule inhibition, and thereby pave the way toward vaccine development and drug discovery.
